What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness can not only benefit our mental and physical well-being, it can also be a wonderful way to learn how to relax.
Mindfulness arises from moment to moment awareness of our surroundings, awareness of our bodies, and a recognition of our thoughts and feelings.
Mindfulness isn't new, it's been around for well over 2000 years but it's only in the last few decades that scientific research has demonstrated how regular mindfulness practice can help reduce stress, anxiety, depression, pain, even blood pressure. It can improve quality of sleep, self-esteem, concentration and much more.
Mindfulness is a skill which like most skills need to be practised and developed over a period of time, so, I recommend a course of 8 sessions which can be conducted on a 1 to 1 basis or in a group. If you're unsure about the course, you may want to attend a drop-in session and experience mindfulness meditation for yourself.
